Featured are some rare George W. Lawrence Company accessories, including an original Mr. George W. Lawrence Sr. business card, a George W. Lawrence Company rubber stamp, the original copper plate of the 1903 George W. Lawrence building used in the 1940 catalog and a leather strip containing all the Lawrence logos. Pictured also are the cover pages of the 1929 and 1932 George W. Lawrence Company “jobber” catalogs.

    4. Pictured is an open top, closed toe safety strap Lawrence holster style number 9, 30L for a 1920s German commercial Luger witht a 3-5/8" barrel. The safety strap will also close over a grip safety Luger. Although, no doubt made earlier, the first identified Lawrence catalog to feature this holster is the 1929 catalog on page 139, in fact, most of the 1929 Lawrence Luger holster offerings are on page 139.

  6. Style No. 14 - 30L full cover flap, closed toe holster for 4-inch barrel Luger

    7. Pictured are two basically identical 1920 – 1930s made Geo. Lawrence holsters for a 4-inch barrel Luger, style numbers 14 30L with early “Football” style logo, full cover flap closed toe, both holsters with early U.S. Fastener Co. brass snap fastener assemblies. The first 1920s example appears to be of earlier manufacture, based on the numeric font style and size of the 14 (8mm) and 30 in 14 30 L which is consistent with all other period Lawrence holster 30 L stampings. In the second, later 1930s Lawrence holster example the 14 (6mm) and 30 (6mm) of 14 30 L is a different and smaller numeric font style, however, the L (8mm) in both holsters is of the same font style and size. The most significant difference, however, of both holsters is in the domed brass cover flap snap fastener logo styles, with the first, earlier Lawrence holster example having the earlier GL Co logo, consistent or period to the early “Football” style holster logo, while the second later example, although sporting the identical period holster logo, the cover flap domed brass snap fastener sports a Swastika insignia.

    The first thought is that the entire snap fastener assembly, to accommodate the Swastika, would have to be changed out, however, since both holsters have the same early style, unmodified U.S. Fastener Company snap fastener assemblies and that the assembly appears to be undisturbed, i.e. untampered with, that two possibilities exist: 1) The U.S. Fastener Company snap fastener Swastika-like insignia assembly was a special order done by Lawrence, being period original or, 2) the Swastika insignia was somehow aftermarket affixed over the original domed brass GL Co logo as the diameter of the domed brass Swastika insignia is approximately 1mm larger, as is the thickness of the cover flap fastener assembly.

    Since the holster was made in the 1930s it is possible that an American customer, enamored with the NAZIS, before their evil nature surfaced, ordered the holster as currently fitted from Lawrence, but highly unlikely, although, to complicate matters, additional period Lawrence non-Luger holsters have been identified with identical Swastika insignia snap fasteners. Based on the age of the subject holster and the period, aged condition of the cover flap snap fastener Swastika insignia, it was added early on.

    8. Pictured is an excellent condition Lawrence, full cover flap with flower design stamping, style number 14F, and designation 584. The Lawrence holster full cover flap style number 14F (Flower-stamp design) for a Luger has been listed in Lawrence catalogs, at least since 1929 through catalogs into the 1970s and beyond, however, no Lawrence catalogs in the collection identify the 584 designation.

    17. Pictured is a George Lawrence logo stamped holster for a Luger, stamped style 14 and ERMA. The full cover flap holster has slightly larger proportions than the standard style 14 Lawrence holster made for a regular P08 Luger. Although ERMA made replica Lugers, no model has been identified that would properly fit the subject ERMA stamped holster, however, a special assembly .45 Cal, Aberman Luger made by KrausewerK, designated R1 with an original FA 4 06 chambered barrel fits perfectly.
