The serial number 10034 Chilean trials production prototype Luger rig is the only known complete Chilean rig that has been located with a special cleaning rod as part of the rig, inserted in the holster cleaning rod pouch. The brass shaft part of the assembly, other than being longer to accommodate the seven inch barrel, is a standard old model cleaning rod, however, what sets it apart is the special blued steel barrel oiler, which in this case, can be called a true oiler. The tubular oiler is uniquely constructed to be a no-spill oiler with a conical type entrance which allows for the container to be partially tipped without any oil spillage and also the hatched, circular screw-type cover has a shaft with a spherical tip to hold a droplet of oil. The tip of the early production, standard shaft of a typical cleaning rod grease reservoir screw top cover is shaped in the form of a spade, used to scoop grease out of the standard tubular shaped barrel or grease reservoir. This is the only such known cleaning rod, apparently made specifically for or by DWM, solely for the Chilean push-button board-stock-holster contract series Luger rigs. It is interesting to note that the push-button board stock holster for the first series Chilean prototype rigs, an example being 10003, although without a cleaning rod, must have had the same type oiler. Additionally, the special holster for all these Chilean rigs were made from the same, frail leather used for the C93 Borchardt board stock holsters, and the 10003 Chilean push-button board stock holster, except for length, is identical in style and material used for the special holsters made for the twenty or so 1899 Swiss Test Trials Borchardt-Lugers, of which these holsters also had a special, one-time-only all brass, two piece cleaning rod, the same style, less one section extension, as used for the C93 Borchardt.

Cleaning rods for the 6¾ inch barrel Chilean trials prototype board stock holsters have not been accurately identified, except for a very unusual cleaning rod associated with Chilean trials production prototype rig 10034 of the Doug Smith Collection. The rig is the only known, totally original second trials Chilean carbine rig and was once offered at auction in excess of $100,000. The 10034 cleaning rod is unusual as the barrel end has a locking screw, of which this particular style of cleaning rod may not be original to the rig. Pictured are three cleaning rods representing the evolution of the design for the Old Model Luger.
